Is my gum/mouth pain definitley Bruxism?

Postby Guest » Wed Feb 24, 2010 2:39 pm

Hi Everyone!

After going to my dentist with sever gum/mouth pain which seems to move around my lower left side of my Jaw, my dentist has advised i am grinding my teeth excessiveley at night ( i quite often wake up with a tightly clenched Jaw)

The pain is still in my Gum, and when i have looked on Bruxism sites this doesnt appear to be a common symptom. I went to my GP and no sooner had i said the word "grinding" he prescribed me with an Anti Depressant Amitriptyline.

I am concerened that this could be a mis diagnosis, and would love to know if any other Bruxism sufferes experience mouth/gum pain?

Thanks

I paid about $100 for mine. A customized mouthpiece is important so it's tailored for you.
